Jean M. Weaver Memorial Scholarship

Jean M. Weaver was a 2004 graduate of the NTC nursing program.

While working through her nursing program at NTC, Jean not only balanced her schoolwork with a CNA job but also continued to support her family with the countless responsibilities that come with being a mother to four school-aged children. Jean persevered through this busy and sometimes trying season of motherhood to successfully complete her program, ultimately to the long-term betterment of her children’s lives. She often shared how her decision to complete the program positively impacted her life. Jean would have wanted another tenacious and passionate parent to have the same life-changing opportunity to learn and succeed.

After graduating NTC, Jean worked as a registered nurse for more than 17 years in several central Wisconsin healthcare facilities, including the St. Joseph’s PICU, St. Clare’s emergency department, Marshfield Clinic walk-in and the MSICU at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Family, friends and coworkers remember her as a hardworking, dedicated and talented nurse who brought joy to her patients with her sense of humor and wit. This scholarship was established in 2023 to honor Jean’s memory.
