Gregory J. Rubey Memorial Scholarship

Greg Rubey graduated from NTC in 1973 with an Associate Degree in Data Processing. He worked for five years at Bell Telephone Laboratories in Naperville, IL before moving back to Stevens Point and starting a 35 year career at Sentry Insurance. Throughout his career at Sentry he attended many IT seminars for the company and climbed the ladder quickly. He retired in 2013 as an IT manager, a position he held for many years. His relaxation after work was cars. Over the years he rebuilt many cars.His love of working on automobiles came from his Dad as did much of the knowledge. Family and friends usually brought their questions to him and he seemed to always have the right answer. Over the years his interest grew to vintage cars and that took him to many car shows along with his latest acquisition.

This is why we have decided to honor him with two scholarships, one for IT and one for Automotive Technology.
