Angela Robinson-Madeline & Lillian Brady Scholarship

The Madeline & Lillian Brady Scholarship embodies resilience, perseverance and hope. Challenges often arise unexpectedly, testing our resolve and reshaping our aspirations. For my daughters, Madeline a cancer survivor, and Lillian, the path to academic achievement was paved with unforeseen circumstances.

As a family, our primary focus during their crucial high school years was on Maddy’s health and recovery. We moved several times,k navigated countless hospital visits, and pursued healing with unwavering determination. During these tumultuous times, the traditional high school setting slipped away from our reach. Overshadowed by the pressing concerns of health and well-being, the relentless battle against cancer demanded our undivided attention. It left little room for traditional high school activities. As the days passed in waiting rooms and doctor’s offices, the prospect of graduation seemed increasingly challenging to attain.

In the midst of uncertainty and adversity, NTC Alternative High School emerged as a source of hope and opportunity. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by students like my daughters, NTC provided a nurturing environment where resilience was celebrated, and academic success became attainable despite the odds. The Alternative High School offered more than just an education; it served as a sanctuary where my daughters could flourish amidst the chaos, reclaiming their sense of self-worth and purpose. Witnessing their transformation at NTC was nothing short of remarkable. I watched their confidence soar as they embraced the power of education to transcend their circumstances. The dedicated educators at NTC not only imparted knowledge but also instilled a sense of resilience and determination that would guide them beyond the classroom.

As both Madeline and Lillian were recipients of scholarships during their time at NTC, I witnessed firsthand how these achievements ignited a spark of hope within them. The recognition of their hard work and dedication instilled a renewed sense of purpose, pride and determination, motivating them to strive for what had previously seemed unattainable. My intent with this scholarship is to create a testament to their indomitable spirit and unwavering strength and determination. It is a tribute to the countless students who, like my daughters, have overcome seemingly insurmountable odds to pursue their dreams.
